Disclaimer
A divination professional cannot predict the future with certainty and you should not rely on a reading to make any decision that would affect your legal, financial, or medical condition. If your inquiry involves the law, finance, or medicine, then you should seek the advice of a licensed or qualified legal, financial, or medical professional.
Divination cannot replace qualified mental health care. A reading can only facilitate how you cope spiritually with a given situation. In certain jurisdictions, a divination professional is required to disclose to you that readings should be for entertainment purposes only, and if such a law applies to your reading, then you are hereby on notice thereof.
Your divination professional is bound by a self-imposed code of ethics:
Read with Good Intent
- It is the responsibility of the divination professional to give the client a positive and welcoming experience free from judgment and negativity
- The reader cannot make decisions for the client. The role of the reader is to give guidance and advice in both spiritual and mundane issues. The divination professional is not a licensed therapist.
- In the case of physical or mental health questions, the reader should advise the client to seek professional help.
- Divination can sometimes bring news to the client that they did not expect or like hearing. However, the divination method should never be used for predicting ill will, bad omens, or gambling. Examples include predictions of death, health concerns, and winning lottery numbers.
Client Confidentiality
- Divination professionals keep the confidentiality of their clients. The client should never fear having their personal information given to others. This includes friends and family that also come to the same reader for a reading. The only exception is when the client gives written or verbal consent to do so.
- Divination professionals are not licensed counselors or therapists, meaning they are not mandated reporters. However, the reader may report the client under similar guidelines as therapists would, such as with suicide, murder, and abuse. This is under the discretion of the reader. If the client suggests having any problems in these areas, or if they fear for their life in any way, the reader should encourage seeking out the help of professionals and the authorities.
Be Non-Judgmental
- It is essential that the divination professional present a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory attitude to their clients.
- The reader should not project their thoughts, feelings, or personally held beliefs onto the client, including but not limited to religion, race, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
